Welcome to Lochaber Hope's Bright Minds Hub.
What is Bright Minds?
BrightMinds is a local youth programme, created by young people for young people. This project aims to transform mental health support for people under 25 in Lochaber. Bright Minds, guided by our Youth Advisory Board, offers groups, events, and training to young people. We believe in their resilience and capabilities, striving to empower them with tools, resources, and connections to lead happy, healthy lives and inspire others. Additionally, we campaign for changes in mental health culture, policies, and practices to advocate for better support systems. By empowering youth and driving systemic improvements, we aim to create a lasting, widespread impact.
Join our Youth Advisory Board!
Our Youth Advisory Board is a one-year leadership development initiative where members meet fortnightly to discuss the charity's operations, plan events, and engage in training and development opportunities, such as Mental Health First Aid and the YouthScotland Youth Achievement Scheme.
How can you be involved?
How every young person benefits from Bright Minds will be unique. Some may attend a group just once, while others may start groups and continue to participate in training on mental health and personal development.

As an SQA-accredited centre, our training opportunities are vast, and we explore different pathways with individuals to help them get the most from the project.
There is no requirement to start at the beginning and no expectation to follow the steps as they are laid out. If mental health is a topic you find interesting and you have a desire to help others, join us in our mission to make Lochaber a happier and healthier place. Get in touch today, and we can start a conversation about what this might look like for you.
Events and Activity Groups
Discover our current events and activities and find out how to get involved. They are free to attend and exist as opportunities for you to meet like-minded people and maybe try something fun!
Our meetings, events and groups are hosted at New Connections on the Fort William High Street.
